I would like to report that today is the first time someone disagreed that the German Shepherd Dog in Switzerland was not popular. I was waiting with Jochen at the Reichenau/Tamins railways station for yet another train to yet another place in the pursuit of high mountains for fitness training for the next few days as well as giving my hosts some private time.
This man made a beeline for Jochen and told me that he was handsome, big and wonderful; that he had grown up with German Shepherds; that it is a breed that has that special something; that if he were in a position to have a German Shepherd, he would have one immediately etc etc etc. Well, that was a nice change. Jochen merely looked bored.
Wassen is in the Canton of Uri. I remember this trip from seven years ago when Alex, Peter and I drove from Chur to Geneva for the final leg of our assessor training. We drove the same route via Flims and Disentis through magnificent and very rugged mountains. This country is wild.
